The Dance Hall of Fame honors individuals and entities whose contributions have made a significant and lasting impact on the field of dance through artistry, education, advocacy, leadership, innovation, and cultural influence.

Each year, members of the Board of Directors of the Dance Hall of Fame Foundation submit nominations based on established criteria and guiding principles that recognize excellence, historical significance, and meaningful contributions to the dance community. The process also seeks to support broad representation across dance genres, disciplines, generations, and communities.

As part of the nomination process, the nominees are researched, reviewed and discussed by the Board, to ensure a thoughtful and informed evaluation process.

Inductees are selected through a structured final voting process designed to balance fairness, flexibility, and accountability. 

The Dance Hall of Fame remains committed to preserving the integrity of the nomination and induction process through policies grounded in transparency, equity, professionalism, and respect for the legacy of the dance community. While internal discussions and deliberations remain confidential, procedures are in place to address special circumstances that may impact the process.
